Where are Celina Thinbricks made? |
![]() |
Kleve, in Germany. We have been producing bricks for 100 years and thinbricks for 50 years! |
![]() |
How many colour/styles of thinbricks are there? |
![]() |
Our stock range is around 20 colours. Many of these are available in all of our 4 size formats
Brickslips 1. 240mm x 7mm x 52mm (We call this DF 7mm) 2. 240mm x 10mm x 52mm (We call this DF 10mm) 3. 240mm x 10mm x 71mm (We call this NF 10mm) 4. 240mm x 15mm x 52mm (We call this DF 15mm) 5. 210mm x 15mm x 65mm (We call this WDF 15mm) 6. 240mm x 15mm x 65mm (We call this RF 15mm) 7. 240mm x 15mm x 71mm (We call this NF 15mm) We can produce thinbricks in other colours and formats too. Most things are possible, it’s just a question of quantity! |
![]() |
What about British sizes (215mm x 65mm)? |
![]() |
No problem! Please look at our new thinbrick product range. |
![]() |
Can I use Celina Thinbricks with a thermal insulation system or other type of pre-fabricated/extruded substrate? |
![]() |
Of course! The tolerances of our thinbricks makes this possible because when you are working with fixed dimensions in your cladding system foundation, you need to be assured that the exterior brick façade will match. If you’re not sure, just send us a sample of the material we have to match and we’ll test the two variables at our plant. |
![]() |
Can I use Celina Thinbricks inside and outside? |
![]() |
Yes. For interior use, you only need to make sure that the surface you are mounting the thinbricks to will work with your chosen adhesive. Normal ceramic tile adhesive works perfectly with our thinbricks – there is no need to prime the thinbricks first. For exterior use, you must use a certified frost-resistant adhesive. Our thinbricks are certified frost resistant to the German DIN 105 industry standard. Your adhesive may need a primer coat to the substrate first. Be sure that your exterior adhesive will work with your substrate. There are many suitable adhesives on the market. Our product has been tested with products such as Ronabond from www.ronacrete.co.uk |

Do I have to order a minimum quantity? |
![]() |
Most of our customers order at least a full pallet (see next question). Smaller quantities can be ordered. Please call for a detailed quote. |
![]() |
How many square metres are there on each pallet? |
![]() |
This usually depends on the thickness of the thinbrick:- 1. Our DF7mm thinbricks come in boxes of 64. One box makes up one m². Each pallet carries up to 96m². 2. Our DF10mm thinbricks come in boxes of 64. One box makes up one m². Each pallet carries up to 72m². 3. Our NF10mm thinbricks come in boxes of 48. One box makes up one m². Each pallet carries up to 72m². 4. Our DF15mm thinbricks come in boxes of 64. One box makes up one m². Each pallet carries up to 39m². 5. Our WDF15mm thinbricks come in boxes of 30. One box makes up 0,5 m². Each pallet carries up to 60m². Coverage figures given are approximate and are based on a 12mm gap between courses. |
![]() |
Can I order a mixed pallet? |
![]() |
Yes. We allow you two different styles/formats per pallet without incurring additional handling charges. For more than two styles/formats per pallet, contact us for a customised quote. |

Can I buy Celina Thinbricks in the UK? |
![]() |
At present most of our customers are house-builders, property developers, DIY stores in Central Europe, local authorities, builders and builders merchants. These customers are ordering direct and making savings in the process. When we feel that demand for retail sales in the UK is at a suitable level, we plan to hold stocks of our thinbricks in the UK. If you yourself are a trade customer and are interested in importing Celina Thinbricks for retail sale in the UK, please get in touch with us. Deliveries to the UK may only take a few days, depending on format and quantity needed so ordering direct is still a good way to buy Celina Thinbricks. |
![]() |
How can I pay for my order? |
![]() |
Our prices are set in Euros. To avoid constantly updating our UK price list, all transactions are in Euros. This is no problem for trade customers who are probably already used to dealing in other currencies. When you order from us for the first time we give you our SWIFT bank code and IBAN number. All you need to do is to give your business bank these details and the amount and they will arrange for the payment to be made to us. Once cleared, we despatch your order. |
![]() |
Are Celina Thinbricks easy to install? |
![]() |
Yes, in most cases our thinbricks can be applied just like conventional ceramic tiles. Remember though to calculate how much you need based on the space you are leaving between courses (10mm, 12mm and so on). |
![]() |
How do I point between the thinbricks? |
![]() |
There are several methods. For internal use, you can apply a bed of adhesive to the wall, apply the Celina Thinbricks, then smooth out the spaces
between using a wet paintbrush. This is OK if you are happy with the colour of the adhesive, which is also acting as your grout. If not, simply add a
colour additive to the adhesive. (Choose an additive suitable to your adhesive – ask your adhesive stockist for details). For internal and external use,
you can also use a pointing gun. Typically these guns do not like coarse material, so choose your grout/pointing mortar carefully. These guns made quick
work of pointing and can be purchased for less that £30. If you are having difficulty finding one, send us an e-mail and we’ll try to help you to locate
a supplier. Simply smooth out the mortar afterwards and brush down the face of the thinbricks when you’re finished, just like with normal brickwork.
You can, of course, point up between the thinbricks with a conventional mortar and pointing trowel. Using different colours of pointing mortar multiplies the visual effects you can achieve with Celina Thinbricks. |
![]() |
Can I also order Celina Thinbrick corners? |
![]() |
Yes. We recommend that customers needing Celina Thinbrick corners order appropriate quantities at the same time as their main order, otherwise we will have to charge for freight later on. We don’t charge carriage on corners ordered at the same time as the main order. |
![]() |
How do I work out how many Celina Thinbrick corners I need? |
![]() |
Each box of Celina Thinbrick corners covers one running metre (i.e one metre, with 12mm spaces between courses, measured from the bottom to the top of the area to be covered.). DF7mm thinbrick corners come in boxes of 16; DF10mm thinbrick corners come in boxes of 16; NF 10mm thinbrick corners come in boxes of 12. Please ask for details of DF 15mm corners. |
![]() |
Can I arrange to meet a UK representative to discuss my requirements. |
![]() |
Yes. We don’t yet operate a large UK salesforce but you can contact our UK Sales Office for advice. See out website for details (www.thinbricks.com) |
![]() |
Do you produce anything else besides bricks and thinbricks? |
![]() |
We are working with several partner companies in order to offer our customer a wide variety of walling and façade solutions. If you are interested in thermal insulated systems, contact Casa Therm (E-mail: info@casatherm.de or Web: www.casatherm.de). If you are looking for an interior or exterior decorative stone product, see our website for details of the new and exciting Stegu range (www.thinbricks.com) |
![]() |
Do Celina Thinbricks have any recognised industry certificates? |
![]() |
As with any brick product, the most important features to be tested are those concerned with the elements, particularly fire and water. Our thinbricks are manufactured in the same plant as our normal facing bricks, using fired clay, so the question of fire-resistance does not arise! As for moisture, we have a range of thinbricks for use in all situations. If you require a particular façade with a low water absorption index, we have products with as little as 0.6% water absorbtion. Normal facing bricks have between 6 – 13% water absorbtion. Our thinbricks have been tested for frost resistance to the German DIN 105 standard. Customers are welcome to see our certificates on request. |
![]() |
I want to see some samples before I order. How do I go about this?< |
![]() |
This is easy. Just contact either our UK Office or Head Office in Germany (we speak English, so don’t be afraid to call!!). Tell us about your project, and which style you are interested in. We’ll then discuss with you the best way for you to get hold of some samples before you buy. |
![]() |
How do I know I am getting a good price? |
![]() |
Easy. Go and have a look at your local DIY stores. If they have thinbricks, (unlikely, but you never know) you probably won’t be getting a full 1m² per box, and our costs are generally much less for a full 1m²!! Then, check out the costs of having bricks cut down to make thinbricks. Bear in mind that you may get bricks cut to about 12-15mm but you won’t get thinbrick corners at less than about 25mm!! Then find out who is paying for disposal of the waste created when you have normal bricks cut down (look in the mirror)..You are! It’s probably in the price you are paying! |
![]() |
Can I see where Celina Thinbricks are made? |
![]() |
Yes. We regularly receive visitors to our plant. We won’t divulge any trade secrets, but you’re welcome to visit us! Those of you familiar with budget air-travel may have heard that we have a new airport in in Niederrhein. Flights leave regularly from Manchester and Stansted. Our factory is just a short distance from the airport, perfect for a day-trip. Let us know well in advance so that we can be prepared for your visit. |
![]() |
Can I visit the UK Office? |
![]() |
At present we are still deciding on the location for our UK Headquarters which may or may not include a showroom. However, our UK representative will gladly arrange to meet you. E-mail ukmail@celina-klinker.com to make an appointment. |
